Assessment of Population Parameters in White-tailed Deer

Michaela Rice is working toward a Master of Wildlife Science at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She is currently working with the East Foundation on a collaborative project involving white-tailed deer. The samples collected from deer captures on the East properties will be used to analyze the genetic composition and baseline stress hormone levels of the population.

Before moving to Kingsville, Michaela worked for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in southern Minnesota. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Her broad interests lie in learning molecular techniques to refine future management for endangered species.
