Zane Herrin serves as the Assistant Livestock Manager for the East Foundation Ranches, LLC. He is responsible for the health and management of the cows within the Coloraditas Project on the San Antonio Viejo Ranch and assists with day to day operations and cattle workings throughout the ranches.
Zane grew up near Big Spring, Texas, and worked for his family's cow/calf operation until he moved to Stephenville, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management with a concentration in Animal Production from Tarleton State University, graduating in 2014 with honors. Prior to joining the Foundation, Zane worked as the Livestock Manager at the Callaghan Ranch near Encinal, Texas, where he managed the day-to-day cattle operations and worked to improve the ranch's productivity and operating efficiency. Zane's strong ranching background, cattle handling experience, and wildlife science-based education make him a great fit for the cattle management, caretaking, and data collecting for the Coloraditas Project.
Zane lives a strong faith-based life and enjoys competing at ranch rodeos and team ropings, hunting, fishing, and working with horses and cattle. He lives on the San Antonio Viejo Ranch, south of Hebbronville.
