East Foundation is seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities and Grounds Foreman to join our team at the historic San Antonio Viejo Ranch in South Texas. The successful candidate will manage and maintain facilities and grounds across our 217,000-acre operation, supporting our science, education, and ranching programs through effective infrastructure management. East Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and trustworthy person with a strong work ethic to fill an open position on our team based out of the historic 150,000-acre San Antonio Viejo. The primary focus of this position is to maintain and enhance facilities and grounds in support of our science and education programs and ranching operations. Responsibilities will extend across headquarters, lodging, and education areas on portions of about 217,000 acres of East Foundation properties throughout South Texas.

The Facilities and Grounds Foreman (FGF) is primarily responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of buildings, grounds, and supporting systems across all South Texas locations. This role ensures that buildings and grounds within headquarters, education, and lodging areas are maintained and prepared appropriately to support daily operations, programmatic priorities, and Foundation events. On occasion, the FGF will assist other departments with general ranch duties such as fence repair, disking, shredding, laying waterlines, etc. They must be a team player with the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with peers across teams (ranching, science, and education) in a dynamic environment, analyzing issues, thinking critically, and producing effective solutions.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred 10 years of experience, or a minimum of five years, in facilities and grounds maintenance.
  • Experience in agricultural or ranch settings is desired.
  • Experience in managing projects and vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with safe workplace standards.

Working Conditions

  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work, depending on operational needs and emergencies.
  • Occasional overnight travel to outlying ranches for inspections, maintenance, and project oversight.
  • Physical demands include walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 80 pounds.
  • Work environment includes outdoor and indoor settings, with exposure to various, occasionally extreme, weather conditions.

Valid U.S. Drivers License Required.
Must Pass a Background Check.
