Big Game Specialist and Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross State University

Justin French is currently pursuing a Ph. D. in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences at Texas A&M University. His research interests include animal habitat selection as well as habitat modeling and management. His current research is on the spatial and temporal aspects of coyote habitat use in relation to livestock management on San Antonio Viejo Ranch. Justin hopes to utilize satellite telemetry technology and advanced analysis techniques to provide insight on management practices that can reduce conflict between livestock and coyotes.

Originally from Ingram, Texas, Justin earned a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife & Fisheries Science at Texas A&M University. He went on to pursue a Master of Science in Natural Resource Management from Sul Ross State University and the Borderlands Research Institute, where he studied pronghorn diets, nutrition, and habitat use in the Trans-Pecos.  Upon completion of his Ph. D. Justin hopes to continue his research career in order to provide science-based answers to management issues.
