Lisa Flowers was the Director of Programs at Texas Wildlife Association, responsible for the oversight, strategic vision and alignment of all of the education and outreach programs specifically all aspects of the Conservation Legacy and Hunting Heritage programs.

She worked with Dr. Selma Glasscock, Assistant Director at the Welder Wildlife Foundation when she was the Director of Conservation Education for the Boone and Crockett Club based at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch in Montana. In partnership, they conducted a two-week long collaborative conservation education training for science teachers called “Conservation Across Boundaries” from 2001 – 2011. The program immersed teachers in Texas and Montana ecosystems to study the social, economic, ecological and political aspects of wildlife and natural resource conservation.

Lisa was born in Richmond, Virginia, moved west with her family to Colorado, and eventually Montana where her family ranched and her father taught geology. She received a Bachelor of Science in Botany from University of Montana in 1982, after serving as a secondary science teacher in Montana she pursued a Master of Science for Teachers of Biological Sciences from University of Montana in 1995. In 2007, Lisa completed her Ph.D. in Forestry & Conservation at the University of Montana under her major advisor Dr. Jack Ward Thomas.

She has worked in the fields of conservation, education and non-profit management throughout her career. Lisa is a professional member of the Boone and Crockett Club, an official measurer, hunt master with Texas Youth Hunting Program and served on the Governor of Montana’s Private Land Public Wildlife Council from 2012 - 2014.
