Carrie Gomez serves as the Accountant for the East Foundation. She is primarily responsible for the day to day accounting functions as well as managing payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prior to joining the East Foundation, Carrie was employed as a contractor for the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority and assisted the Comptroller with the day to day operations of the accounting department. She retired from Northeast Independent School District in 2010 after 20 years. She worked for three years as a Special Education Assistant at Harmony Hills Elementary, in the Accounting Services department for 17 years, holding the positions of Accounts Payable Specialist, General Ledger Technician, and Food Service Accounting Technician. For the 9 years before her retirement, she was the Accounts Payable Supervisor. Carrie brings with her an extensive background in Accounting.
Carrie has 90 college credit hours, and has successfully completed the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC). She maintains this certification by attending continuing education classes, and is currently working towards attaining the Certification of Payroll Professional (CPP) designation. Carrie is a native Texan living in San Antonio with her husband and enjoys spending time with their children and grandchildren.
