Outreach & Events Coordinator

Maria Hernandez serves as the Programs and Events Coordinator for the East Foundation. Maria plays a critical role in providing Program support for the Foundation, including procurement, budget and fiscal, travel, data processing, and Program record keeping. Additionally, she coordinates and provides oversight for outreach projects, meetings, and events for the Foundation. Prior to her current role, Maria was the Records Management Coordinator for the Foundation and was responsible for maintaining its document management system.

Maria has a diverse employment background, which has equipped her with rich experiences and skills for working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment. Prior to joining the East Foundation, Maria worked as an Administrative Assistant for a property tax firm, as a 4th grade Bilingual Education Teacher, and as a Fund Representative in the financial industry.  Her organizational and problem solving skills, as well as her “can-do” spirit is appreciated by all within the Foundation.

Maria is a native of Corpus Christi, received a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and has an Alternative Bilingual Certification from Northwest Vista College. When away from work Maria enjoys going on hikes, gardening, and the theatre arts.
