Nicolas Rangel is the Chief Financial Officer of the East Foundation, where he is responsible for the finance, accounting and risk management strategies of the Foundation.
Nick has over 25 years of experience leading multidisciplinary finance and accounting teams in various industries, including financial services, oil field services, hospitality and high technology. Prior to joining the Foundation, he was Chief Accounting Officer at SWBC and Director of Accounting Operations at Rackspace. Additionally, Nick worked for the international public accounting firms of Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. While at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, Nick was an expatriate in Mexico City for two years and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for six years.
Nick grew up in South Texas and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He enjoys volunteering and serves as a director with CentroMed, a network of nonprofit community healthcare clinics, and as an officer for the Basis San Antonio Shavano Campus parents’ board.
Nick’s most important role is being a father. He and his wife, Lorene, have five children. Nick enjoys traveling with his family, reading and learning languages.
