Our objective was to determine whether differential selection of vegetation characteristics occurred on the first day of egg laying in wild turkeys from Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas. We found no effect of visual obstruction on nest success. Our results indicate that vegetation conditions selected by wild turkeys at nest sites were generally available on the landscape traversed by female wild turkeys during nest-site selection.
