We investigated factors affecting the discovery and use of carrion by natural scavengers after wild pig aerial gunning exercises. Carcasses were found and consumed more quickly during the summer and when wild pigs were killed earlier in the day. Coyotes were more likely to be the species that discovered carcasses in the fall. Our results provide land managers with information on how best to utilize the services of their local scavenger community in terms of carcass placement and the time of year in which wild pig control is performed.
