Andrea Montalvo joined the East Foundation as a Research Scientist and is responsible for designing and conducting research projects related to wildlife and range ecology as well as providing assistance to East Foundation partners. Originating from Massachusetts, she earned a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Vermont and worked throughout New England on environmental education and land stewardship and conservation.
Andrea moved to South Texas for an internship in wildlife management and stayed to pursue graduate degrees. Andrea completed an M.S. in Range and Wildlife Management and a Ph. D. in Wildlife Science at the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute (CKWRI) at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Andrea's research has included aspects of wildlife disease, population sampling and estimation, and rangeland survey and assessment. Andrea will continue to monitor wildlife populations and vegetation as a part of the East Foundation' s ongoing long-term studies.
