Our education program brings learning to life on our ranches, immersing students in outdoor experiences on the land. This living laboratory becomes a dynamic classroom where students engage in the setting of a working ranch. Through interactive lessons and activities on the land, we encourage students to forge meaningful connections with the natural world while learning about ranching, wildlife, and land stewardship.
We host Field Days on San Antonio Viejo and El Sauz so that students can participate in outdoor learning experiences. The interactive lessons and activities encourage students to connect with the natural world while learning about ranching, wildlife, and land stewardship. There is no cost to participating schools.
Students arrive at the historic San Antonio Viejo near Hebbronville, Texas, and take a scenic fifteen-minute drive to the Education Pavilion where they will engage in several presentations and activities to learn about cattle ranching, local wildlife, and land stewardship.
After a ten-minute, scenic drive through the coastal sand sheet of South Texas, students visiting El Sauz near Port Mansfield, Texas will have a hands-on, immersive outdoor learning experience at the Elliff-El Sauz Education Facility. Through unique lessons and activities, they will learn about cattle ranching, scientific research projects, watersheds, native wildlife, invasive species management, and the benefits of ranches, all through the integral lens of land stewardship.
Schools are responsible for providing transportation to and from the East Foundation ranches and for student lunches.
