From Cornell University – Traveling Down Ocelot Road: An Exploration of Field-Based Research

Danielle Keerbs spent a month in South Texas working with Ashley Reeves on East Foundation’s ocelot conservation program, one of only two remaining wild populations in Texas. She participated in field captures, sample collection, and lab research while gaining insight into broader conservation efforts, including captive breeding programs. The experience transformed her view of research and inspired her to pursue a PhD integrating fieldwork into her veterinary career.
